Our 3 specialty arena types:
Traditional arena
This rock & sand arenas offer a classic, natural feel that many horses prefer. They are typically more budget-friendly than synthetic options and can be durable with proper maintenance.
However, they require ongoing care to maintain a consistent surface, including regular leveling and adding material. Additionally, sand can generate dust and the risk of injury may be higher compared to some synthetic surfaces.
Ultimately, the suitability of a sand and rock arena depends on individual preferences, budget, and maintenance capabilities.
Drainage focused
This arena is designed with a specific focus on water management. It incorporates a system of pipes, gravel, and often a geotextile layer to effectively remove excess water from the arena surface. This prevents pooling, mud, and soft spots, creating a safer and more consistent riding environment.
Having great drainage protects the arena base, extending it’s lifespan. It also reduces maintenance and time spent leveling and repairing the services. Even though it may be a big higher of a cost to invest in, with the right partner to help with planning and installation, we ensure optimal performance!
ebb & flow
A specialized type of drainage system designed to efficiently remove water from the arena surface. It typically involves a network of pipes, a sub surface and a base layer of compacted gravel that allows water to seep through and collect in an underground reservoir. When needed, the water can be pumped out or allowed to naturally evaporate.
By combining an ebb and flow drainage system with proper footing and water amenities, you can create an optimal riding environment for horses and riders.
